The Choquequirao 4 day trek is amazing and extraordinary adventure,it explores one of the biggest places built by the incas even 3 times bigger than Machupicchu also known as the hidden city or the cradle of gold.A hidden city at the top of the Apurimac river mountains.

The Choquequirao route is really spectacular and almost no tourist it.Little visited,little explored.Choquequirao is believed to be the legendary last city inhabited by the incas.You’ll be surprised by its size since it’s much larger than Machupicchu.

During this adventure you’lltravel the ancient paths that the incas used,climb the high andean peaks,contemplate the majesty of the glaciers,desend through deep canyons where the condors fly ,and cross completely different ecosystems from one another.

You will enjoy the fantastic mountain scenery as well as lots of Andean flora and fauna.

Tour Plan

DAY 1: CUSCO – CAPULIYOC –CHIQUISCA – MARAMPATA

We will pick you up at your hotel between 4.00 and 4.30 am to begin our journey in a private bus for 4 hours northeas of the city of Cusco,throgh small communities to Capuliyoc (2,800m/9,407ft). Where we will have delicious breakfast and ehere we will also meet our support staff for this adventure. After breakfast,we star with our hike for approximately 20 minutes and we will arrive to our first viewpoint where we have panoramic view, in from of us we can see the mountain range of vilcabamba called padreyoc and the famous Apurimac Canyon,then we will start our descent for 3 hours through beautiful landscapes where you can see different madicinal plants that were used by our ancerstor chilca, and different varieties of plants.If we are lucky we will be able to see the flight of the majestic condor,we descend to Chiquisca 1,800 m.a.s.i.Where we have a delicious buffet lunch typical of Cusco. After lunch .we will have a 30 minutes continue or walk,descending 45 minutes more to Playa Rosalina (1,700m/4,840ft),located on the Apurimac River ,which is the natural border of two important Peruvian regions,Cusco and Apurimac. After passing the famous Apurimac river, we continue aphill for 4 hours to Marampata 3,500m/15,387ft. on the way we will see bird dances,at sunset we will see the andean people, how they live in the mountains with a very fifferent lifestyle compared to the city .We will arrive at our camp in Marampata at approximately 5.30 pm ,after a short rest we will have dinner at approximately 7pm. and during the night you will be able to see constellations and the milky way .

DAY 2: MARAMPATA – CHOQUEQUIRAO – MARAMPATA

Early in the morning ,you will wake up with a hot tea and you will have enough time to organize your things.At approximately 6.00am we will have a delicious typical breakfast.Then we will continue with our hike to Choquequirao Where we will see an incredible view of the Choquequirao 3,104 masl during our hike we wil have an incredible view of the Apurimac canyon where our orofessional guide will explain you abaut the flora and fauna, we will have 4 hours to explore Choquequirao complex cradle of gold ,also known as the lost city the sector of the plazas,the sector of the llamas ,the astronomic sector and other important places . After visiting all these places ,we will start our descent to Choquequirao ,where our lunch is waiting us.then we take 30 minute break and continue to an incredible place ,this place is sector of lllamas and waterfalls a place where you will be in contac with nature. Fnally ,we will return to Marampata where we will have tea and dinner is redy and it is time to rest.

DAY 3: MARAMPATA – SANTA ROSA-CHIKISCA

Around 6.00am.We have breakfast and after an additional half hour,we will star our hike towards Playa Rosalina .We will go 3 hours more to the Apurimac river which we will cross.from here we will go 1 hour up to Chikisca for lunch.Here we will also have the chance to enjoy the view of the condors in this area .We will be at the camp around 3.00 to 4.00pm.Here we will also have our tea and dinner and the rest of the time to relax a bit .

DAY 4: CHIQUISCA – Capuliyoc – Conoc hot springs to CUSCO

Today we wake up very early at approximately 4.30am to have breakfast and star the hike uphill before we get sun, this way we will arrive fresh and with good energy at the end of the hike Capuliyoc,here we will have lunch and then board our bus back to Cusco,on the way we have the option to enter the hot springs of Conoc,here you can cool off with a dip and have a beautiful view of the landscape offered by this place,then return to Cusco,in Cusco we will finish from 5.00 to 6.00pm.
