The history of Choquequirao. Built by the Incas in the 15th century, Choquequirao was used as a religious and administrative center. Despite its historical importance, the site has remained largely intact, allowing visitors to explore its terraces, temples and squares with a sense of unique discovery.

Tour Plan

DAY 1: CUSCO – CAPULIYOC –CHIQUISCA – MARAMPATA

Your epic trip begins at 4.30 an when we collect you from your accommodation in Cusco and drive for four hours to Capuliyoc(2,800 m) in our private transport.When we arrive in Capuliyoc,you'll devour a delicious breakfast and mmet the cook and horseman who'll make up your trekking team.Once ready for the hike we start decending for 3 hours approximate to Chiquisca lunch spot where the cooks will be waiting with delicious lunch and after we will continue with downhill hike to Playa Rosalinas where we will have a break and then we start the uphill section for 4 hours to the camp of Marampata (2,200 m/9,570 ft).You'll enjoy a tasty dinner and spend the night.

DAY 2: MARAMPATA – CHOQUEQUIRAO – MARAMPATA

Today you will wake up with a cup hot tea then you get ready for breakfast.After breakfast we will start the hike through a flat road and slopes that go up and down for approximately 2 hours to the archaeological center of Choquequirao (3,030 m/10,007 ft). Where we will visit the main Plaza,the Guardian's House,the andean platforms of llamas.Where our lunch is waiting us. In the afternoon,you will return to your camp at Marampata to enjoy another great dinner and rest for the night.Once the sun has set,you will notice that the night sky is filled with stars and constellations.Contemplate their meaning before going to bed.

DAY 3: MARAMPATA – SANTA ROSA-CHIKISCA

You will start the day with another hearty breakfast before heading back,after having enjoyed some beautiful moments during your tour of Choquequirao. You will return along the same trail until you reach Santa Rosa (3 hours).Where they cultivate sugar cane that is used for the preparation of cambray,a popular liquor in the area.You will continue your descent until you reach Rosalina beach (1,500 m/4,921ft),and then you will start climbing for approximately one hour and fifteen minutes until you reach the warm Chiquisca (1,900 m/6,234 ft),where you will spend the night and enjoy a tasty dinner.

DAY 4: CHIQUISCA – Capuliyoc – Conoc hot springs to CUSCO

Today we wake up very early at approximately 4.30am to have breakfast and star the hike uphill before we get sun, this way we will arrive fresh and with good energy at the end of the hike Capuliyoc,here we will have lunch and then board our bus back to Cusco,on the way we have the option to enter the hot springs of Conoc,here you can cool off with a dip and have a beautiful view of the landscape offered by this place,then return to Cusco,in Cusco we will finish from 5.00 to 6.00pm.
