Day 1: Ausangate and the 7 Lagoons – One Day Exploration

The day starts early with a 4:30 a.m. pickup from your accommodation in Cusco, followed by a private drive to Pacchanta, situated at the base of Ausangate Mountain. There, you’ll enjoy a traditional Andean breakfast made from local ingredients. The hike begins from Pacchanta toward the famous 7 Lagoons of Ausangate. This moderate trek showcases stunning high-Andean scenery, with stops at vibrant lakes like Azulcocha, Otorongo, Pucacocha, Alqacocha, and Q’omercocha. Along the way, you’ll admire panoramic views of the Ausangate Glacier and may spot native animals such as alpacas, llamas, and vicuñas. After the hike, you can relax in the natural hot springs of Pacchanta, surrounded by impressive mountain landscapes. A traditional lunch prepared by locals will be served before heading back to Cusco. You’ll arrive around 6:00 p.m., concluding the tour in Cusco’s Historic Center—ideal for an evening stroll or dinner.
